Hugo Bernardo was born in Lisbon (Portugal) in 1988, where he lives and works.

Studied Painting and Drawing at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual where he completed the Advanced Course in Visual Arts (2012) resuming his research with the completion of the Master’s Degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon ( 2021). His work as fiction, conveys drawing and the pictorial device and integrates sound as immersion, anthropology or inquiry regarding the mythical essence of memory and immanent origin of images.

Aditionally he dedicates himself to artistic teaching for the Drawing and Painting program at AR.CO, integrates as guest the BASE art school and carries out workshops and printmaking editions at Atelier Cabine, a collective studio project he founded in 2016. He was also assistant to the artist Miguel Branco and assisted the conservation for the Culturgest - CGD collection. He also integrated the Projecto Pontes (ARS) Residency at Fundão, the Contemporary Art Center of Vila Nova da Barquinha and the Moussem Culturel International d’Assilah (Morocco). In 2021 he was selected for the Young Art Prize - Milllenium BCP and his work is represented in several private collections, including Assilah Forum Fondation, CAC Málaga - Centro de Arte Contemporâneo, Múltiplos Carpe Diem, Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection and Colecção Manuel de Brito - Galeria 111.
