Reading Room #02

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Reading Room #02, presented on the occasion of the finissage of The Echo of Mute Words, by Eduard Arbós & Fernando Prats, curated by João Silvério.

This second session also marked World Poetry Day with the launch of Sem Fim — Personal Anthology by Antonio Orihuela.

We had the privilege of welcoming Spanish poet Antonio Orihuela and Raquel Marinho (O Poema Ensina a Cair), who led us through a conversation around this book and the author’s universe. Our thanks to both for this brilliant interview.

Our thanks also to Sr. Teste, publisher in residence at dialogue in Marvila, for their collaboration on this series and for publishing this book.

Reading Room #01

.Thank you to everyone who joined us for the debut of Reading Room, launched on the occasion of the finissage of the exhibition PLAY, by Helena Almeida & Carina Brandes, the second chapter of The Happiness Project by José Freire.

This first session brought together Obra Poética by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen — Helena Almeida’s favourite book — and Sculpting in Time by Andrei Tarkovsky, central to Carina Brandes’s practice, interpreted by André Gomes.

Special thanks to André Gomes for guiding us through the intertwining of these languages, holding a full room in suspension, as we decoded his silence between words.

Thanks also to the publisher Sr. Teste — responsible for the only Portuguese edition of Sculpting in Time.
