Quem melhor do que um artista para desvelar ou sondar as subtilezas, as evidências ou as invisibilidades da obra de outro artista? Artistas sobre artistas é um seminário com oito sessões em que o público terá a rara oportunidade de ouvir artistas, seus contemporâneos, a refletirem sobre o percurso de artistas essenciais no panorama artístico internacional do século xx, oriundos de diferentes contextos

culturais. Mais do que aulas de história de arte, estas sessões são conduzidas pelos intentos da oralidade, constituindo-se como diálogos, em que afinidades electivas, estéticas e sentimentais conduzem o discurso e a aproximação de dois universos criativos separados pelo tempo e pela geografia. Com este seminário, a equipa do Museu prossegue o desígnio, caro a Vieira e Arpad, de aproximar diferentes gerações de artistas e de constantemente desafiar a comunidade que se reúne em torno do Museu a pensar novas possibilidades de aproximação ao trabalho artístico.

Who better than an artist to unveil or probe the subtleties, the evidences or the invisibilities within another artist's work? Artists on Artists is an eight-session seminar in which the public will have the rare opportunity to listen to artists, our contemporaries, reflect on the trajectories of key artists from the twentieth-century international art scene, originating from diverse cultural contexts. More than art history lessons, these sessions are guided by the principles of oral tradition, taking the form of dialogues in which elective, aesthetic and sentimental affinities drive the discourse and bring together two creative universes separated by time and geography. With this seminar, the Museum team continues the intent, dear to Vieira and Arpad, of bringing together different generations of artists and constantly challenging the community that gathers around the Museum to think about new possibilities for approaching artistic work.
