Eduard Árbos (Barcelona, 1959)

Lives and works between Lisbon and Barcelona.

Eduard Arbós is a visual artist whose practice has been primarily focused on artistic creation, while also maintaining his activity as a graphic designer, a field in which he worked in design and advertising studios until 1990. His early work was rooted in a sustained reflection on space — exploring the relationship between mental and experiential space — with geometry and painting as central languages.

In 2015, following a serious eye condition, his work underwent a significant shift. Since then, his practice has centred on a series of projects that analyse, question, and interrogate the image and its construction, as well as language and its codes. His work brings together text and image, figuration and abstraction, forming a new approach both formally and conceptually.

Working across multiple mediums, Arbós employs performative action, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and publications. Since 1990, he has presented numerous solo exhibitions and regularly participates in international art fairs such as ARCO, Art Chicago, MACO Mexico, Artissima Turin, and Art Lisboa, among others.
